About The Hidalgo's

Casey and Kirstine Hidalgo met through their shared passion for good quality horses and an even better quality of understanding horses.  Kirstine traveled to the US to further her multicultural knowledge of horses and met Casey the day after her flight to DFW in the small community of Loving, Texas.  Just five months after they first met, they married in the Texas countryside on a 2000 acre ranch, directly after 'Hidalgo Horsemanship' was born.  Since then The Hidalgo’s have taken on many new prospect horses and built their horsemanship company to take in horses for training, showing and selling.   The future is bright for The Hidalgos, as they are known locally, as they have big plans for getting good quality horses and horsemanship distributed across, not only the country, but the world.  Casey and Kirstine have the perseverance and patience to build their new horsemanship companies, 'Hidalgo Horsemanship' & 'Hidalgo Performance Horses' from the ground up and take the time it takes to do it the right way.   Casey and Kirstine are very active locally with the Cowboy Church, Sherriff’s Posse & Volunteer Fire Departments as well as doing lessons, clinics, horse training & work with the Wounded Warrior's Team.  Their passion for quality horsemanship and good quality horses is infectious and they are always willing to visit with you and your horses, their door is always open to visitors & they're always willing to help everyone better their understanding of horses!

The Hidalgo's are enjoying their new facility in Burleson, Texas, check out the Contact Us page for directions & check out their new 'sister' website www.TheHPH.com for more information on training, boarding & the facility.

Casey Hidalgo

Casey has spent his entire life with horses, from a young age he showed Western Pleasure and helped start children’s horses & ponies for local families.  Casey was surrounded by a very horse orientated family who specialized in the breeding and showing industries and hold many world champion titles in both areas.  He was fortunate to spend a lot of one on one time with a student and friend of Tom Dorrance and gained much insight into the finer points of horsemanship, horse training and colt starting.    Originally from Granbury, Texas, Casey and Kirstine now live together with their ever growing herd of home-bred and selectively purchased horses in Burleson, Texas.

Casey has Team Roped professionally, attending the USTRC Finals in 2004, spent time as a Professional Farrier, Horse Hauler and Colt Starter.  He now takes on horses in many fields, predominantly Reining & Cutting as well as Ranch Horse, Western Pleasure, Trail & Problem/Difficult Horses.  Casey’s methodology consists of many years hands on working with horses and studying colt starters, horse trainers and horses in competition to create his ‘own way’ around the horse.

Horses in training are taught to hold their bodies correctly, stay soft and calm in body and mind and they help the horses find their ‘talent & potential’ and encourages them to specialize in those areas to become great horses.

“I want to show the world my understanding of horses, how to help train a horse without ‘tools’ and being ‘bitted up’ how to gain trust, respect and ‘want’ from your horses without force.  My passion is performance horses as they are bred for the job and I love seeing them evolve from a weedy two year old into an outstanding horse in the show pen.”

Kirstine Hidalgo (Formerly Kirstine Williams)

Kirstine has ridden since she could walk, she comes from a family who have traveled the world enjoying horses from a vast cultural background.  She has ridden horses across the mountains of Switzerland, the beaches of the UAE, Middle Eastern deserts of Egypt, Dubai and of course the rolling countryside of the United Kingdom.  Kirstine has experienced many disciplines with horses from Cross Country, Show Jumping, Dressage and English riding to Western/English Pleasure, Reining, Roping & Cutting.  Kirstine, originally from England moved to Loving, Texas in late 2006 and met her husband Casey the day after she landed in DFW; she came to the United States to further her multicultural and diverse experiences with horses - meeting Casey certainly made that happen!  Kirstine has always aspired to do her best by the horse and is currently working on her Home Bred horses ready to put them in the show pen in a variety of fields; Reining, Pleasure, Trail & Ranch Horse Versatility in order to spread the word of Horsemanship through learning and pave the way for future foal crops out of their stallion Skip.

While they both work on their showing experiences and spreading the word, Casey & Kirstine are also building up to teaching horsemanship ‘From The Ground Up’ covering the basics of horse care and manners up to preparation for the show pen, as well as the finished horse in the show arena! (First Clinic will be held in October 2009 - email The Hidalgo's for more information)

"Our passion is Performance Horses, Using Horses and the Well Rounded Horse, we're both very excited to help people progress with their own horses as well as get our own horses into the show pen"

“The horses I have met along the way have taught me so much in how to adapt to the horse in your presence and how to appreciate the magnificence of a powerful horse.  I have spent years with horsemen and women from vast backgrounds each with something different to offer the horse, I now aim to use all these useful pieces of knowledge and offer them to all my present and future horses.”
